May 31, 2012 - Portraits
We've been working on a project for a while now, and I think it's time we introduce More Than Twenty! More Than Twenty is our new family and kids' portrait photography business. Our weddings aren't going anywhere - we'll still be filling our summers with lots of dresses, flowers and parties, but we did want to separate our family portrait work and give it a space of its own.
You can check out the new site and blog. Our first family for the summer is up on the blog over there right now - these adorable lovelies, Samantha + her folks. Go over and say hi!
May 24, 2012 - Engagements
Laura + Pete got engaged at Delaware Park, so we headed over there for their e-shoot. Well, not immediately. Rich and I played hooky for the morning and finally went to see the Avengers (yay!) before their shoot, and we got to the park early and were hanging in the car when we saw this adorable couple walk by. It was still early, but we were like, well, they're so adorable, they HAVE to be who we're shooting (we hadn't met in person yet)! We grab our gear and head over when we see them disappear into the Rose Garden, and there's clearly a rehearsal or something going up on the stage, so all super dejected, we realize they were heading there. Bummed at our luck for not getting to shoot them, we loiter around waiting for Laura + Pete, when a few minutes later, the adorable couple comes back and was like, oh, we're Laura + Pete - we were just nosing around the garden!
After our happy dance, we headed in to shoot them, and it was awesome. Laura is the kind of person you just want to make happy all the time because she just lights up when she laughs - and it was a pretty spectacular shoot. :)
Super amped! We're always late to the party on movies since we go to maybe two a year, but that was awesome. Pete and Laura are doing that post-graduate dance that so many people do where she's here and he's off at Michigan State in grad school and it makes life together challenging. I think the coolest part about their wedding next year is that it's also celebration of them coming back together, physically since Pete will be graduating a week before the wedding. I think that's awesome since I'm pretty sure Pete just moved to Atlanta for a while as well. Hey, see the world, right?
And, of course, we stopped at the proposal tree (above) :) It was a great evening - thank you guys for being so fabulous! We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again!
